Amarillo girl and the sea horse

Ava ran up to me this morning and said, "Mommy! I want to see the amarillo girl and the brown sea horse."

What she wanted to see was a girl (wearing a yellow shirt) on Yo Gabba Gabba who made her donkey smile by feeding it hay.

Don't you just love kids translations?

November in Cali...

The weather was so warm and gorgeous yesterday, Ava soaked up the rays at Tiki Beach in the backyard. Then daddy showed her a spider...which she was NOT happy about.

Excuses, excuses...

So today we were taking a lovely, family walk in the rain. Suddenly, Ava started lagging behind. When we asked her to pick it up, she said "My stomach hurts."

The other night, when we were trying to get her to eat dinner she said, "I can't eat. My leg hurts."

Tricky, tricky. Do you think we have a fibber on our hands?

Love, love, love...

There's really not much more to say when I look at these pictures.

I had to share these doozies with you!

So tonight while hanging out with me and Sergio, Ava said a million funny things. Here are just a few delicious morsels:

- Right after going doodoo in the toilet Ava immediately looked down to examine her treasure. The doodoo was in three pieces - big, medium and small. Ava declared, "It's a daddy, mommy and baby." As the big piece of doodoo sunk down the toilet Ava said, "Look! The daddy is going to work. And, the mommy is staying home to nurse the baby."

- Later as Sergio was messing up the words to one of her favorite songs (California Gurls by Katy Perry) Ava said, "Daddy stop! You're stressing me out." (I'm not kidding.)

- Lastly, as she was running around the house in her pre-bed mania, she hurt her foot. She limped over to me in pain. As I was rubbing her foot she whimpered, "Mommy, I need a walking stick." So Serg found one for her and tailored it to her height. She walked around with it for the rest of the night.

I am in LOVE with this girl!

Wait....come back!

Last year Ava did NOT like sand or the beach. This year, however, it's a new discovery. She loves it all...except the water. Here she runs and runs and runs from a tiny wave.

What you do to me...

One of the best parts about kids is being able to watch them when they're unaware. They do the most amazing, precious things. About halfway through this clip, Ava catches her reflection and sings to herself in her new ballet outfit. SO STINKING CUTE.

Bossy McBosser!

Does anyone think that Ava may be an assertive child? Perhaps the one that will tell the other kids what to do. Maybe, maybe not. You be the judge...

When I hear music, it makes me dance

Here's a typical night in the Buonsanti household. Music, dogs in your face, dancing. Just the basics. The best part of this clip is that Ava knows the words to the 80's song, "When I hear music".

Holding...or trying...to hold the puppy

Our neighbors down the street have 6 puppies. Ava loves them all. Here's her attempt at holding one. I think she thinks it's too squirmy.

She's "too tired"!

Like a typical celebrity, Ava is tired of the paparazzi shots. Here's one of her "excuses" so she doesn't get filmed. Excuse the darkness, it's at night.

"Pinkberry, mama"

And to verify our child's love of ice cream view Exhibit A below.

The ULTIMATE ice cream fantasy

If Sergio and Ava could make ONE THING come true, it would be to have that ice cream cone turn real. Seriously. Everytime I go the freezer for a tiny bit of ice cream, it's gone thanks to those two.

Strike a pose!

Here's Ava in the display at the mall. For as long as we can, I will let her climb in all the nooks and crannies. She's too cute for security to stop her!

Tiki Beach, baby!

During sizzling hot days and warm nights, this is Ava's favorite place to hang out. Her trusty sand box which she named "Tiki Beach", with the addition of the hose, is the coolest place in town.

Wax on, wax off

Sporting her Karate Kid motif, compliments of Sheree. So 80s!!

Ava's fancy French braid

IF I can get her to sit still and IF she is patient enough with the process, we love to put French braids in Ava's hair. So chic!

The Big Avowski...

So...Ava went bowling for the first time on Sunday. And, on her first roll, she threw a STRIKE! Yes, ladies and gents, a strike. No joke. She would have beat her Uncle Aaron if I didn't screw up her score.

Ah...the beach

Daddy took these great shots of mom and Ava during Labor Day weekend in San Diego. We hung out at our favorite spot at Pacific Beach. I can taste the shaved ice now...

Foiled by a bug!

After a strenuous, painstaking climb to the top, Ava was greeted by a small visitor at the top of the slide.
