Fly, Ava, Fly!

A sure way to make Ava smile (and sometimes laugh) is to lift her in the air and kiss, kiss, kiss her. She likes to be lifted, whether on my legs or in my arms. Does this mean she's gonna be a little thrill seeker?

Happiness is...

...getting tongued by your dog. I'm sure Guadi is thinking, "I wonder where her mouth has been?!"

Punk rock is alive and well...

...as demonstrated by the pseudo mohawk in these pictures. I love the maniacal smile in the first shot. Makes my day.

Hard day at the office

Today, Ava got to visit everyone at the office. It was great. She did great! I was a little nervous about the drive (I've never seen so many semis) and worried that she would cry, but everything turned out perfect. Once we got home, she crashed. And, mommy got to eat a hamburger.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Actually, none of her pics are ugly, but I thought that was a good title for this trio of pictures from the Cell Phone Series.

Bad Day

Saturday my laptop crashed. It has lots of photos downloaded on it. It will be fixed sometime this week. In the meantime, we may have a temporary delay in photos. But, we'll be working on it! Keep your eye out...

Hairpuller

A few weeks back Ava went through a phase that totally confused me. While nursing she would pull her hair. Not gently...she would yank. Whenever I asked anyone about it, they had no explanation. That's when it hit me - other babies don't have as much hair as she does!

Surprising Dad for lunch today

Ava wanted to surprise Dad at work, so we showed up and took him out to lunch. We got to visit all of our favorite people while we were there. (She looks like she's ready to motor through that sausage eggplant sandwich!)

TGIF!

Waking up this morning in a VERY good mood!

"Do I amuse you?"

(I just had to post this picture.)

Thanks Unc!

Smart choice to come and visit me instead of going to the gym.

My first Mother's Day

Wow. I'm finally in the club. And, yes, it's all it's cracked up to be. Every day is Christmas. I'm more in love all the time.

Happy Birthday Ava!

Ava turned 3 months old yesterday.
Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Fists of fury!

Over the last two weeks, Ava has really taken to her fists. Almost in an obsessive way. She holds them up in the air and stares at them with crazy intensity. Like she's angry at someone and is gonna kick some ass. Then, two seconds later, she starts sucking on them. Multipurpose fists - good for beating and eating!

Before I continue...

...I want to give a shout out to a few people. It's common knowledge that I busted my tailbone giving birth to Ava. I also lost lots of blood after her delivery and had a blood transfusion. As a result I was holed upstairs in my bedroom for a couple weeks.

These people saved me: My mom and sister for each taking off a week of work to help out. Norma and Luis for making kick-ass liver and onions to bring up my iron. Kristen and her family for having flowers and pictures at the house when we got home. But, mostly, Sergio - he cooked, cleaned, loved, listened, hugged and kissed me when I needed it. He's my hero. I will be forever grateful.

To everyone else who called and loved and supported us. I love you all. THANK YOU....

Cell Phone Series, Take 1

Lots of times the only thing I have handy to catch Ava's high jinks is my cell phone. As a result I've created quite a funny collection of photos. I call it the "Cell Phone Series". Usually, they're more fun than shots taken with a camera. Enjoy!! (They'll come five at a time.)

Starting Out

I created this blog to, more or less, share all the lovely news about our new addition, Ava. Who knows, I may become one of those people I scoffed at - the ones who create blogs just to hear themselves talk.

I'll try to keep it fun and brief, and definitely keep the images at a max. After all, that's all people really want to see!
