We love you Nicole...

I have told many of you about Nicole Jacome, my friend Marcia's daughter. Nicole, who is 16, has glioblastoma, a brain tumor. She has been at St. Jude's Childrens Hospital in Memphis for the last several months receiving radiation and chemotherapy. Today, they are flying back to Ecuador because her treatment here is finished. She will get a much needed break and get to see her family and friends.

Please pray for her, and her entire family. Send all of your love...everyday!
To see a profile on Nicole, visit the website below. Don't hesitate to sign her guestbook. They would love it.

Miss Frisky!

The sounds that come out of this girl are wild. She is ever changing. It's so hard to keep up. All parents tell you that they "grow so fast". I had no idea...

TWO WORDS....

DEE-LICIOUS!

Monkey Love!!

Uncle Jeff brought this gorilla to Ava in the hospital on the day she was born. Now she's showing it much love, much love.

Tummy Time success!

I posted earlier that Ava hates tummy time. Well...in the last week we've had some success. What's the difference you ask? She likes to be on a towel on the bed! Strange, but I keep doing it and it works. Behold the glory!

Ava is going Green

With all the chemicals we ingest - either from plastics or through skin products I decided to give Ava a fighting chance for a clean start. First we got her organic baby lotion. Then organic baby wash. She's the most health and environmentally conscious one in our house! Serg and I are contributing also, by recycling, not using water as much. These weekly showers are a bit tough, though. (Kidding...)

Hi Grandpa!

Saturday we visited Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa treated us to lunch - which included chili-cheese fries from The Hat. And, I wonder why I'm not losing those last pounds.

Ava loves her some Glow Worm!

Lady of leisure...

Is this a sign that she expects the finer things in life?

Ehhhhhhhhh.....

This is our first video on the blog! She loves to "Ehhhhh" for hours, in addition to laughing, making fart noises (thanks Auntie Dannie) and unconsciously saying "mama". Enjoy!

* Upon hearing this video, she imitated herself for 10 minutes straight. She's a mimic in her spare time.

Will someone turn off the fan, please?

This girl's hair is too much fun. Here's a shot after bath time. No hair product necessary!

Don't be jealous David Lee Roth!!

That's a mean air guitar, girlfriend!

I may regret posting this...

...but as soon as I saw her hair today, I thought of this!

Siegfried and Ava

Wrestling with tigers. Hey...it's all in a day's work for a four month old. Next she's gonna jump a pile of wrecked cars on her motorcycle.

OK...seriously...Happy Father's Day

To daddy and Grandpa...Happy Father's and Grandfather's Day. Unfortunately, I don't have a shot of Lito in here, but we'll get one later!

Giving daddy presents at home.

Playing with Grandpa.

Having BBQ'd pig at Lito and Lita's house.

Father's Day???

Chumps, it's AVA DAY. And, don't you forget it!

Uncle Mike!

Saturday, Unc took us to lunch for Italian. It was a good time. We don't want to wait as long til next time! Love you, Uncle.

The Truth about Tummy Time...

I mentioned before that Ava hated tummy time. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. We still do it everyday. I even bought her this cool, rotating contraption to help her "enjoy" the experience. Nope! When I asked the pediatrician about tummy time, he said she'd "get used to it." Well, she hasn't. But, we keep trying. I'm expecting to see some military push ups in no time.

Sleep, Angel, Sleep...

What a dreamboat. Funny thing is I sleep the exact same way. One arm under my head, the other tucked in front of me.

More Bumpo madness!

I don't think I'll ever get tired of her crazy expressions when she gets in this thing.

Mmmm...massage

Yesterday I gave Ava an honest-to-goodness baby massage. The instructions said that afterwards she would be "so relaxed she'd want to doze off to sleep." Not this girl! She got super energized. But, it was still fun for both of us.

Lunch with Grandpa!

Yesterday we had lunch with Grandpa. What a fun time...even though she would barely look at us the entire time. Hey...at four months you have better things to do. Thanks for lunch Grandpa!

No thumb is too big!

At lunch this past weekend Ava got jealous of us eating and started eating daddy's hand. I just can't believe the size of his hand verses her head. She wasn't intimidated!
(*This picture is an optical illusion...she's not that small!)

Bumpo!

Sergio suggested we have Ava test one of those seats for baby to sit up like a big girl. So we went to Target to try it out, and she loves it! She goes a little crazy though. I can't figure out what it is, but once she gets in it, she gets this wild look and starts throwing her toys. Fun! See the Target tryout below, then the craziness at home.

Everything tastes better on a walk...

During our walk yesterday Ava was chowing down on her toy. Then she got a hold of her thumb. She makes everything look mighty delicious!

"Please Godfather!"

This picture reminds me of a scene from a movie. Like she's pleading for something. "Please, Don Corleone, do not take away my territory. I'll give you the biggest cut!"

You can set your watch to it...

Ava is a predictable nap waker-upper. First, she's very serious (or whimpering) as she rouses herself awake. Then she opens her eyes wide, takes one look at me and gives a big yummy smile. Love it!

I love you Aunt!

Auntie Danielle holding Ava in her second favorite position - face forward. Her favorite position is on my hip, so she can see the world with me.
